Having been inspired by Christian Marclay’s ‘Video Quartet’ installation I became interested in live cinema. The starting point for the project was Ms Pinky’s Maxi-Patch which allows digital media files to be controlled via time-code vinyl. As vinyl could be used to interface with video I viewed this as an extension of DJ practice and something that needed to be explored.
