Auditory Environments
The aim of the Auditory Environments project was to help facilitate dialogue, debate, exchange of perspectives and techniques, and so on, across a variety of disciplines. As a small step in this direction, the one-day seminar and workshop aimed to juxtapose sound spatialisation practice in two areas: music and theatre. A key aim was to compare and contrast theories, praxes, techniques, systems and perspectives in these fields. A further aim was to discuss applications - both actual and potential - in other disciplines. Participation was therefore open to practitioners of any discipline. A third aim was to consider the potential for immersive auditory experience in a range of venues and contexts beyond the theatre and concert hall.
A project (James Mooney - Resound Spacialisation System, Paul Bell - Turntables, and Adam Parkinson - Max/MSP) was submitted to the5th Sound and Music Computing Conferencein Berlin.Download PDF.
